Derrick Fisher will take a few weeks to decide what’s next

derek-fisher
Derek Fisher has some options, now that his season is now over. He can

A. retire and chill
B. coach the Los Angeles Lakers
C. coach the New York Knicks
D. come back for a 19th season

Whichever one he will do is yet to be determined. Now that the Thunder’s season is over, Fisher will take some time to decide what’s next.

“It’s not that many hours since postgame at this point,” Fisher said during the team’s exit interviews. “I’m still struggling with the results of last night. I haven’t got a chance to talk to my wife and kind of step back emotionally from the end of the season. That’s important to do, so that whatever is next, there has to be a separation from the end of the season and what just happened and then I can go from there.”

Can Fisher coach a New York Knick team with Carmelo Anthony and an unknown roster for the next year or two until the Knicks can fill that roster with talent? Or would he choose to coach his good friend Kobe Bryant and the youngsters that they will be undoubtedly filling in the next few months?

Choose wisely and carefully D Fish!

Classic example of a Knick Fan

Although New York’s Madison Square Garden will forever be known as the “mecca of basketball”, Knicks fans may forever be known as the least patient and intelligent fan base when it comes to basketball. Case in point…

This Knick fan’s outburst while his team was tied 1-1 with the Indiana Pacers is so foolish on so many levels. It’s one thing to have faith in your team, it’s another thing to be delusional about the other teams out there, especially a Miami Heat team that is poised to win it’s second championship on it’s 3rd try in a row. Peep the video we got from the305.com.

It’s NSFW so keep the speakers down.

Spike Lee’s Knicks/Nets Video

Leave it up to New York’s director Spike Lee to make a video introducing the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets series. My personal opinion, Spike’s a good director, but I feel like someone else could have did the acting.

Anyway..here’s the vid

Orlando Magic Cheerleader survives nasty fall

I didn’t know there were male NBA Cheerleaders. I thought all most teams had were dance squads, and the sometimes corny and crazy halftime entertainment.

You learn something everyday.

Well the cheerleader that fell during this stunt during the Magic-Knicks game tonight is fine and recovering in an area hospital.

The fall

Here’s her being wheeled off the court and waving to the crowd

JR Smith destroys the rim…but with no style points

It was a dunk…but that’s about it. No style, no substance. Just a dunk.

But since the Knicks are 3-0, everything around them is magnified.

Carmelo Anthony “plays possum” in wax

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony recently takes time out of his schedule to act like a wax statue in Time Square a few days ago.

Check out how he scares some unsuspecting museum goers.

Amare Stoudemire gets fined for using gay slur

Just when things were looking good for Amare and we were beginning to forget “extinguisher gate“, he messes up on the most public of forums.

Seems that “Stat” has grown tired of people talking about his game, his life, and his team. A fan lashed out on Twitter that he needed to “step his game up”.

Stat lashed out back “F— you, I don’t have to do anything f—–”. The last word isn’t the same as the first word, nor is it “fruitcake”.

The NBA got wind of the whole thing and fined him $50k.

Damn they taking money from my man’s wedding stash.

Stoudemire gets the ring..sort of

Okay so my title was a little shot at Amare Stoudemire and the New York Knicks continued attempt to get a championship. Good Luck. Hey the Miami Heat are struggling right now so I can’t talk to much (if you consider a series tied at 2 in the eastern conference finals a struggle).

But here is some good news for Amare. Necolebitchie.com reports that he proposed to his long time girlfriend and mother of his kids Alexis Welch. Amare reportedly pulled out all the stops, as he proposed to her in Paris at a hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said ‘Yes’ and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife.

The moment was surreal. I’m still floating. It’s great to allow someone, you truly trust and know, to take care of your heart. We have been deeply in love with each other for longer than most marriages last. Yesterday, day and night, was truly the best I ever had. The weather was great, the restaurant was fabulous, the city lights were so romantic. When she said yes, a tear fell from my eye.

It’s been a rough year for Amare, from losing his brother, to losing a fight with a fire extinguisher and being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Not to mention the Jeremy Lin craze and losing his coach D’Antoni. It’s good to see him getting away from basketball for a while and tending to the important things in life. Congrats.

JR Smith’s dad says he’s broke and should stay with Knicks

Yes…another “dead broke” story about an athlete.

According to JR Smith’s dad, the youngster is broke and needs to stay in New York and take whatever they give him.

Smith has mad about $25 million in his 8 year career, and $3 million in China. But somehow someway, he’s broke. Go figure.

A source told ESPN New York that Smith’s father, Earl, is going to make a strong case for his son to stay in New York, but “it’s very clear that the money is the biggest factor with him.”

In fact, when Smith chose the Knicks over the Clippers in mid-February after coming back from China, a source said the Knicks’ higher offer ($2.443 million to the Clippers’ $1.4 million veteran’s minimum) was the deciding factor because he was financially broke. Therefore, Smith will likely opt out and ask for the 20 percent raise. At that point, the ball will be in the Knicks’ court to re-sign Smith, who’s already said publicly that he wants to return next season.

Maybe..just maybe if he would have bought some land instead of all those shoes, he would be a little better off financially.
