A few weeks ago after a horrendous outing of football, Mike Vick’s brother tweeted that he wanted his brother traded out of Philly. Mike Vick scolded his younger brother for that behavior and said it wouldn’t happen again.
This tweet was sent out Tuesday morning, 2 days after the Eagles lost to the Washington Redskins 31-7. I think Marcus has been smoking too much of that good good cush. Someone needs to slow him down…now!
Mike Vick got a nice shot to the ribs last night in his second pre season game against the New England Patriots. Although the hit knocked him out of the game, he didn’t sustain any major injuries, just soreness.
Since that hit, the conversation regarding his style of play has been reignited. Yes he’s an electrifying runner and is the consummate duel threat qb. But can the Philadelphia Eagles win, and by win I mean Super Bowl, with a qb who is some what fragile? After the game, DeSean Jackson was quoted as saying Vick said
“Man, I can’t keep taking hits like that.’”
What we have to remember is that on the specific play from Monday nights game, Vick was in the pocket and wasn’t scrambling. His offensive line is solid, but they need to do a better job of protecting their franchise. I will agree that when Vick is on the run, he needs to learn how to slide or get of out bounds.
The short answer to the win question is, if they or Vick stays healthy then there is no reason this team cannot win. But staying healthy is the key to success for the Eagles.
Mike Vick has been making the rounds lately, promoting his new book and trying to rebuild his image.
Here’s his latest foray into his image makeover. Check out Mike Vick having a little fun as a salesman to unsuspecting customers at a Modell’s Sporting Good Store.
I’m wondering if Vick got any wanna be tuff guy got ugly and mentioned dogs or prison.
Although he won’t get credit for it, it’s good to see Mike Vick marry the mother of his youngest kids, and commit to something (outside of football).
Now…if he can just get those Eagles on track…
I don’t know how I feel about this. It almost seems as other famous people who’ve committed crimes (all types) that are worst than what Mike did got off a lot easier. They did their time and were forgotten about. I don’t see any anti fraud PSA’s from Martha Stewart. Has anyone filmed Bernie Madoff yet?
Is it because Vick plays football? Is it because this country puts more value over an animals life than a human being (see Trayvon Martin case)? And yes I’ll ask..is it because he’s black?
I hope that this and other things Mike Vick have done to rebuild his image and his past dealings are enough for people to leave him alone and for him to continue with his life.
