Amare Stoudemire gets fined for using gay slur

Just when things were looking good for Amare and we were beginning to forget “extinguisher gate“, he messes up on the most public of forums.

Seems that “Stat” has grown tired of people talking about his game, his life, and his team. A fan lashed out on Twitter that he needed to “step his game up”.

Stat lashed out back “F— you, I don’t have to do anything f—–”. The last word isn’t the same as the first word, nor is it “fruitcake”.

The NBA got wind of the whole thing and fined him $50k.

Damn they taking money from my man’s wedding stash.

Stoudemire gets the ring..sort of

Okay so my title was a little shot at Amare Stoudemire and the New York Knicks continued attempt to get a championship. Good Luck. Hey the Miami Heat are struggling right now so I can’t talk to much (if you consider a series tied at 2 in the eastern conference finals a struggle).

But here is some good news for Amare. Necolebitchie.com reports that he proposed to his long time girlfriend and mother of his kids Alexis Welch. Amare reportedly pulled out all the stops, as he proposed to her in Paris at a hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said ‘Yes’ and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife.

The moment was surreal. I’m still floating. It’s great to allow someone, you truly trust and know, to take care of your heart. We have been deeply in love with each other for longer than most marriages last. Yesterday, day and night, was truly the best I ever had. The weather was great, the restaurant was fabulous, the city lights were so romantic. When she said yes, a tear fell from my eye.

It’s been a rough year for Amare, from losing his brother, to losing a fight with a fire extinguisher and being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Not to mention the Jeremy Lin craze and losing his coach D’Antoni. It’s good to see him getting away from basketball for a while and tending to the important things in life. Congrats.

Could Steve Nash rejoin with Amare Stoudemire in New York?

A lot of questions surround the New York Knicks as they woke up on Thursday morning ready to go fishing for the rest of the NBA playoff season. Will Amare come be traded? Will Mike Woodson be the coach to take this team to the next level? Is Phil Jackson available? Who will be the point guard?

To the last question, it seems that the Steve Nash sweepstakes have begun and not a moment too soon.

When asked about the possibility of having Steve Nash as a team mate in New York, Stoudemire said this

Everyone knows that Steve loves New York and New York loves Steve. I love Steve and it would be great to have him here next year.

Steve loves New York? Really? I didn’t know. Yes he spends a part of his summers in Manhattan. Doesn’t mean he loves it. Wherever Steve lands, more than like it will be for the minimum, and if he’s going to sign for the minimum, he needs to be with a contender. He’s already said that “Miami is an interesting option”.

Stay tuned…

Amare Stoudemire injury in animated parody form

This is kind of genius. Not only does the developer have a lot of time on their hands, but they are really funny and creative! Check out the video.

Amare Stoudemire lacerates his left hand, will sit game 3 vs. Miami Heat

After a long night at the American Airlines Arena, Jeff and I decided we had had enough of the Miami Heat’s beat down of the New York Knicks. We hung around after the game for a while, spoke to a few journalist, took some pictures with people and decided to leave.

As we walked by the Knicks locker room, I noticed how packed and long the line was outside. This was more than 45 minutes after the game and they had not opened the doors yet. Then I saw the paramedics and the gurney.

Did someone fall? Did one of the AAA employees faint because of heat exhaustion?

No. I did a quick check on Twitter and saw the news.

“Paramedics are working on a laceration to the left hand of Amar’e Stoudemire, per #Knicks spokesman. Injury was suffered after the game.”

WTF? The Knicks are falling apart at the seams, and it’s only fitting that they are. A team that stuck together this season by duct tape and Elmer’s glue. D’Antoni quit. Lin-sanity came and went. Carmelo has been out and so has Amare.

But Monday night’s events take the cake. Amare Stoudemire, upset that the fact that his patchwork team is down 0-2 to the Miami Heat, decided to punish a fire extinguisher on the way to the locker room. He left the arena with his hand heavily bandaged and in a sling.

Folks thought the Knicks could give the Heat a little challenge in this first round. But after getting blown away in game one by 35, and getting suffocated down the stretch in game 2, a lot of people are starting to bring out the dreaded “S” word. You know..the one that has to do with brooms?

Anthony returns tonight for the Knicks

Now the plot thickens and things get interesting.

Carmelo Anthony is expected to return tonight for the New York Knicks as they welcome crosstown rival New Jersey Nets to Madison Square Garden.

It will be the first time that Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin will play together since February 4th against the Nets when Anthony played all but 6 minutes before leaving with his groin injury. Since Stoudemire’s return from his bereavement, he has developed some on court chemistry with Lin.

Now comes Melo. And questions will remain around his play with Jeremy Lin. It’s a legitimate question and one that should not go un asked. Will Lin-sanity continue to reign  in New York? Or will Carmelo-ism take over and crush the Lin empire?

We’ll see tonight!

All star Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire will miss at least 3 games as he takes the time to grieve the loss of his brother Hazell Stoudemire. The elder Stoudemire was killed in a car crash early Monday morning.
“I’m going to take a few days to be with my family and grieve the loss of my big brother”.
“I’m humbled by the amount of thoughts and prayers that I have received” he added while talking to tmz.com.
The Knicks will be without Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. He went down with a strained groin in Monday nights win over the Utah Jazz.

No timetable has been set for Anthony’s return.
