Showtime cancels “The Franchise” one week early

Oh how the good times that the Miami Marlins promised South Florida have went down the drain.

After a nice sized spending spree in the summer, a controversial statement by their manager to start off the season, a great month followed by a few horrible months..Showtime has decided that they’ve had enough.

“There was an option to do more but given the state of our season, it was decided that the original 8 would suffice.”

And with those words sent in via text by club president David Samson, the Marlins “season” on the cable show giving people on all access look at the team is over.

Maybe if the team hadn’t shipped off a few of their bigger contract players to save some money, Showtime would have just grinded it out for one more week. But enough was enough.

Personally I never watched because a.) I don’t have showtime and b.) the Marlins don’t interest me enough to make me add it to my cable package.
