Several NBA Teams To Play Lift Every Voice During Black History Month
Thanks primarily to the efforts of a very brilliant man. Eugene Williams Sr., a retired Prince George’s County educator and former Howard University professor, spoke the words “Lift Every Voice And Sing” into his new streaming device and the song, known as the “Negro National Anthem,” not only made him feel really good when he heard it but it inspired him to do something special.
Williams hoped to convince all NBA franchises to make “Lift Every Voice and Sing” a part of the pre-game ritual to honor America along with the “Star Spangled Banner” during the month of February which coincidentally is Black History Month. We wholeheartedly support this endeavor.
His story was initially told by The Shadow League’s Mark Gray then Dr Williams connected with The Jeff Fox Radio Show via 2livestewsradio.com and told his story in his own words.
