Heat win in Atlanta; recall Stokes from D-league
The Miami Heat went on the road to visit the Atlanta Hawks on a Monday night and came out victorious.
Chris Bosh had 24 points and 10 rebs, Luol Deng contributed 18 pts with 9 rebounds on a night where Dwyane Wade needed his team mates to lift him up,
Goran Dragic even toughed it out after losing a tooth in the 3rd quarter that came courtesy of an Al Horford elbow to the jaw. He returned however, in the closing moments of the 3rd quarter to push the pace and lead the Heat to their 2nd consecutive victory in as many nights.
Today, the Heat also announced they have recalled Jarnell Stokes from the D-league affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Stokes has appeared in seven games (all starts) in two different stints with the Skyforce, helping them to a 6-1 record, while averaging 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.29 steals, 1.14 blocks and 29.0 minutes while shooting 65.9 percent from the field. He finished with the second-highest field goal percentage in the Development League while posting two double-doubles and scoring at least 20 points in four contests. Additionally, he grabbed double-figure rebounds on three occasions and blocked multiple shots three times.
Stokes will re-join Miami today and be available for the HEAT’s game at Brooklyn tomorrow night.
