Dolphins lose LSU’s La’el Collins to Cowboys
Good job and good effort.
That’s all we can say about the Miami Dolphins player contingent who went to Baton Rouge and tried to woo La’el Collins to bring his talents to South Beach (really Miami Gardens).
On Thursday it was announced that La’el Collins would sign with the Dallas Cowboys. Collins was a first round talent that went undrafted because of an investigation into the murder of his ex girlfriend and child. Although he was never a suspect, having his name mixed up in the whole mess was enough to keep all 32 teams from drafting him during last weeks draft.
Collins old friends from LSU including Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry, Anthony Johnson and team leader Mike Pouncey all hopped on a private jet to Baton Rouge to help lure the big fish back to the Florida. This was one day after he met and had lobster appetizers with Bills head coach Rex Ryan.
Collins agent had said that he had heard from nearly every team in the NFL as word of his interview with investigators had concluded.
So, once again Jerry Jones gets the man he wanted, and the Cowboy offensive line gets even better, with having 3-1st round picks and a first round talent on board.
Mark your calendars. Cowboys visit the Phins in week 11 of the upcoming season.
