Dolphins Beat The Titans in an Ugly Fashion
It wasn’t pretty nor was it a statement game. What it was is a victory for the Miami Dolphins over the Tennessee Titans 16-10. The Dolphin faithful showed up for the Dolphins home opening game; too bad the Miami Dolphins offense didn’t show up to the game. No matter how ugly a win is, it’s still a W in the win column and that is all that matters.
The chorus of boo’s and chants of “We want Moore” reverberated throughout the stadium anytime the Dolphins’ offense sputtered which was the majority of the game. As much as people want to blame Jay Cutler for the woes of the offense, thinking that Matt Moore will be any better with that offensive line is delirious in thought. Cutler was on the run as soon as the ball was snapped and the offensive line could not create a sliver or an opening for Dolphins running backs to run through.
The saving grace for the Dolphins victory was their defense. Titans QB, Matt Cassel, was either on the run or on his back for the majority of the game. The Dolphins as a team registered six sacks but had numerous hits and hurries as well. Reshad Jones scored on a strip sack fumble caused by linebacker Kiko Alonso.
The continuing story was the Dolphin’s offense who only generated 178 yards of offense for the game. Head coach Adam Gase has some soul searching to do to try to fix his offense. The Dolphins offense also took another hit when wide receiver, DeVante Parker, left the game early with an apparent ankle injury. He was later seen after the game on crutches.
Things for the Dolphins don’t get any easier next week as they face the defending NFC Champions, the Atlanta Falcons, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Hopefully the Dolphins offense shows up for that game.
