Bye bye Hanley! Marlins trade Ramirez to Dodgers

You figured it was only a matter of time. The on again, off again love triangle with Hanley Ramirez, the fans and the Marlins management has been ice cold for awhile, kind of like the way he’s been playing.

The LA Times reported that HR (and that doesn’t stand for home runs) is headed west.

The Dodgers made one of the most significant and stunning trades in the history of their franchise late Tuesday, acquiring three-time All-Star Hanley Ramirez from the Miami Marlins, according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal hasn’t been formally announced.

There’s nothing I hate to see more than wasted talent and potential. And for whatever reason(s), after have a stellar rookie year and winning the batting title in 2009, Hanley just hasn’t been the same. Too many run ins with managers. Inconsistent play. Immaturity.

Maybe a change in scenery is what he needed.
