Buddy Hield Inspires A Nation In The Bahamas

FREEPORT, BAHAMAS-  Oklahoma Sooners superstar Buddy Hield the leading candidate for the Wooden Award is also inspiring future hoop stars in his native Bahamas. Recently the Bahamian Prime Minister Perry Christie was presented with a portrait of  Hield at the opening ceremony of the Bahamas National High School Basketball Tournament. Like NBA star Kevin Garnett once famously screamed anything is possible !! In the 2007 picture you can see a 12 or 13 year old Hield holding the basketball with the Prime Minister in the background. Not surprisingly the Bahamian leader feels a special bond with the two time Big 12 player of the year. A real life rags to riches story. Hield is expected to be a lottery pick in the next NBA draft.                             IMG-20160315-WA0019IMG-20160315-WA0018IMG-20160315-WA0017
