Bloody Hell – Dolphins Lose in London
The Miami Dolphins didn’t have a jolly, old time in London. Instead the Dolphins lose in London to the New Orleans Saints, 20-0 in front of the crowd at Wembley Stadium. It was the first shut out for the Dolphins since 2013 and the first in the tenure of Adam Gase.
It was an embarrassing performance by the offense. The one good drive the Dolphins had in the first half ended with Jay Cutler throwing an interception in the endzone. For the season the Dolphins have yet to score in the first half which is quite embarrassing.
The offensive line couldn’t open holes for Jay Ajay, who ran for a paltry 46 yards on 12 carries, and it couldn’t block long enough to allow Cutler to throw. The offensive line has been an issue for the Dolphins for the past few seasons and it doesn’t seem like they have the players needed to fix the issue.
The defense played a good game. For the most part they kept Drew Brees in check and their run defense was more than serviceable. Lawrence Timmons started after having his suspension lifted and contributed with 7 tackles and one for loss. It is also worth noting that the Miami Dolphins defense has only one takeaway this season.
While these issues are still able to be fixed seeing how early it is in the season, but it seems like these are the same issues from past seasons still lingering around. Tempers were flaring up on the sidelines and one has to wonder how much longer before it spreads to the lockerroom and then the Dolphins season is truly lost.
The Dolphins next game is against the Tennessee Titans at Hard Rock Stadium on October 8 at 1:00PM
