Alcohol Involved In Greg Oden Assault Case

goden
Just when we thought that Greg Oden was about to resuscitate his career with the Miami Heat last year, he was relegated to the bench after a less than stellar game versus the Indiana Pacers. Roy Hibbert had his way with G.O. that night, and we kind of never really heard or saw from G.O. again. Playing in 23 games during the regular season, and averaging 9 minutes and 2.9 points, you can say he was merely a ghost.

Brady Quinn Signs With Miami Dolphins

Brady-Quinn-Action-Water-670x350
It was seven years ago. NFL Draft day. Remember this…?

I know I do. I can honestly say that I didn’t expect the Dolphins to draft Brady Quinn, but I definitely didn’t expect them to draft Ted Ginn Jr. (and his whole family).

But plenty of fans who were so desperate for a new quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, sat in horror and shock as the administration at that time passed over what was considered the best qb left on the board and decided to draft a speedy receiver who was scared to take a hit.

You saw the reaction there from Quinn. He knew the Dolphins needed a qb. The whole world knew it, and for whatever reason they went with the guy who catches the ball instead of getting a guy who could throw it to the guy who would catch the ball.

Regardless, here we are seven years later and Brady and the Phins have come full circle, as reported by Profootballtalk.com…

Quarterback Brady Quinn, who recently took at job handling college and pro football for FOX Sports, may not be available when football season begins. According to Jeff Darlington of NFL Network, Quinn has signed with the Dolphins.
It appeared he’d slide out of the NFL permanently. But the Dolphins have needs at a minimum for a camp arm. After working out Quinn, John Skelton, and Rex Grossman, the Dolphins opted to sign Quinn.

Quinn has until August 30th to make this Dolphins team again…for the first time.

Miami Dolphins officially make announcement this morning

DOLPHINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback Brady Quinn and waived/injured quarterback Pat Devlin, the team announced.

The 6-3, 235-pound Quinn joins the Dolphins after spending time during 2013 with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and St. Louis Rams. A veteran of seven NFL seasons, Quinn has appeared in 24 games with 20 starts and has completed 296-of-550 attempts for 3,043 yards and 12 touchdowns. He completed the 2013 season as a member of the Rams after signing with St. Louis on October 23, 2013. Prior to joining the Rams, Quinn spent six weeks with the Jets, signing with New York on September 9, 2013. He joined the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent on April 11, 2013, but was released following training camp on August 31, 2013. In 2012, he started eight games for the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 112-of-197 attempts for 1,141 yards and two touchdowns after signing with the team as an unrestricted free agent on March 19, 2012. Quinn spent the 2010-11 seasons as a member of the Denver Broncos after being traded by the Cleveland Browns on March 14, 2010 in exchange for Peyton Hillis and a sixth round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns after being selected in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. While a member of the Browns, Quinn appeared in 14 games with 12 starts completing 184-of-353 attempts for 1,902 yards and 10 touchdowns.

A standout performer at Notre Dame, Quinn played in 48 games and tied a school record by guiding the Fighting Irish to 29 wins. During his tenure in South Bend, he set 36 school records, including career pass attempts (1,602), completions (929), passing yards (11,742), passing yards per game (239.6), touchdown passes (95) and lowest interception percentage (2.43). He finished his career ranked in the top 10 in NCAA history in pass attempts (seventh), passing yards (10th) and touchdown passes (ninth). As a senior in 2006, he started all 13 games, completing 289-of-467 passes for 3,426 yards with 37 touchdowns. Quinn won the Maxwell Award as the nation’s most outstanding player and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as the nation’s top quarterback as well as being named an AP second-team All-American and finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting. Born October 27, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio, Quinn attended Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio.

Rex Grossman Among Quarterbacks To Work Out For Dolphins Today

The Miami Dolphins will be hosting several out of work qb’s today for workouts.

The revelation first came from super agent Drew Rosenhaus on Sunday night during a television appearance. He mentioned that his client, Rex Grossman, would be one of a few quarterbacks working out for the team.

"i'ma-make-it-rain!"

“i’ma-make-it-rain!”

Matt Moore and Pat Devlin both missed action due to injury on Friday when the Dolphins played the Falcons. Both players took part in practice on Sunday.

Devlin’s hamstring issue and the missing of a week of practice have left him vulnerable. Matt Moore and his contract (owed $4 million this year if on the roster) may leave him a little bit expendable as well.

It may seem like the Dolphins are trying to get insurance behind Ryan Tannehill, but at a lower rate.

Stay tuned…
